Ruth Ellen Spradlin, age 92, of Arkadelphia died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in Arkadelphia. She was born September 25, 1920 the daughter of Clinton and Verna Garrett. She was a member of Third Street Baptist Church. Ruth loved bible study, sewing and quilting. She and her late husband, owned and operated Sam's Place Restaurant and later the Arkansas Restaurant in Arkadelphia for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ireland (Sam) Spradlin.
Survivors are a daughter, Sammie McClure and husband, John Wayne; a son, Jasper Spradlin and wife, Lois; five grandchildren, Susan Hurst, David McClure, Roland Spradlin, Renny Spradlin and Janis Spradlin; five great-grandchildren, Jenna Hurst, Amber Billingsley, Alexander Hunter, Kelsey and Lesley Spradlin.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, April 26th at Smyrna Cemetery near Okolona. There will be a open visitation on Thursday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
