Sally Jean Latham was born on July 20, 1966, in Texarkana, Texas. She passed away on February 12, 2026, leaving behind so many people who loved her deeply and will miss her more than words can say.
Sally spent many years working as a nanny, and caring for others truly came naturally to her. She had a gentle, patient way about her that made children feel safe and loved. Even outside of work, she was always looking after younger family members, never hesitating to step in with a helping hand or a warm hug. Taking care of people wasn’t just something she did — it was who she was.
She graduated from Texas High School and was known by friends and family for her incredible cooking. If you ever sat at her table, you knew you were in for something special. She poured love into every meal, and it showed. Holidays, family get-togethers, or just an ordinary evening — Sally made them all feel special with her food and her presence.
She is survived by her sisters, Kirsten Lavergne and Leah Portis; her brother, Darius Crawford; her aunts, Ardeth Dailey and Cynthia Hollingsworth; her nieces, Alex Mayeur, Chase Mayeur, and Keegan Lavergne; and her nephews, Cameron Aviles, Palmer Aviles, and Charles Portis. She also leaves behind many cousins and countless friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Sally was preceded in death by her father, Mark Latham; her mother, Barbara Perkins; and her significant other, Tony.
Sally’s life was centered around family, good food, and making people feel cared for. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the stories shared, the recipes remembered, and the many lives she touched.
