Sam Lynwood Curry, a beloved member of the Hot Springs community, passed away on April 29, 2024, at the age of 78. He was born on December 9, 1945, in Magnolia, Arkansas, to Sam Allen Curry and Sybil Tyson Curry. After spending his childhood in Stephens, Arkansas, he went on to build a life filled with remarkable achievements and cherished memories.

A man who valued family above all else, Sam considered his proudest accomplishment to be building a loving and close-knit family unit. He is survived by his devoted wife Kathryn Susan LaVanway Curry, his children Kim (Jason) Goslee, Kenison Holmes, Dr. Andrew (Caroline) Singleton Curry, and Katie (Will) Curry Carter. He was blessed with nine grandchildren: Cody, Kali, JuliOnna, Thomas, Tristan, Aubrey, Nic, Amberly, and Collin, and two great-grandchildren: Leighton and Jolene.
 
 Sam's professional journey was marked by versatility and resilience. After graduating from Hendrix College in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, he ventured into the world of banking before eventually becoming the proud owner of both a propane company and a trucking company.  Beyond his career success, Sam will be fondly remembered for his vibrant personality. Known for always having a smile on his face and rhythm in his shoes, he exuded warmth, friendliness, and an outgoing nature that endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In addition, Sam found great joy in various hobbies and interests. Whether it was hunting deer and ducks in the serene outdoors, playing golf with friends, or passionately cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks, he lived life to the fullest.
 
 Sam will be joining in heaven his loving parents, brother Allen Curry, sister-in-law Cheryl Curry.
 
 A visitation in honor of Sam Lynwood Curry will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home in Hot Springs on May 3, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with Scott Gallimore officiating. 
 
 Honorary pallbearers are the Hendrix class of ‘67.
