Sammie Hassen, age 68 of Bismarck, went to be with the Lord August 7, 2017. Sam was born March 6, 1949, the son of Sam and Elsie Smith Hassen in Jacksonville, AR. He served in the U. S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran, He was a member of Bismarck Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his son Chris Hassen, his parents Sam and Elsie Hassen, and a brother Ray Hassen.
Sam is survived by his wife Joyce, and two sons, Sammy (Brenda) Hassen, of Fort Smith, AR, and Jasen (Donna) Hassen of Cabot, AR; Six Grand Children, Sammy, Jr. (Jenny) Hassen, Amy (Nick) Martin, Brent Estes, all of Fort Smith, AR , and Tyler, Devin, and Lauren Hassen of Cabot, AR. He is also survived by one brother Thomas (Geneva) Hassen of Cabot, AR; three sisters, Zelma (Tim) Thurgood of Carlisle, AR, Geneva Moore of Bismarck, Janie (Carthel) Clark of Malvern, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was so loved and will be sorely missed by everyone.
The visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Friday August 11, 2017 in the Ruggles Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Arkadelphia, with services following at 2:00 pm with Bro. Van Glidewell officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Bower Cemetery in Bismarck. Memorials may be made to the Bismarck Pentecostal Church.
