Samuel Pritchard

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel “Sam” Charles Pritchard, affectionately known as "Pops", on June 30, 2023, in Beebe, Arkansas. Born on December 17, 1951, in Sedalia, Missouri, Sam was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His departure has left an immense void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Damien Pritchard and Marion Faye (Beemer) Pritchard; brothers, Ronnie and Danny Pritchard; and granddaughter, Lillian Prichard.

Sam’s dedication and hard work were evident throughout his career at Union Pacific where he devoted 20 years of service. Not only was Sam a dedicated employee, but he also proudly served in the United States Army for two decades. His commitment to his country reflected the strong values that guided him throughout his life. His unwavering patriotism and selflessness were evident throughout his military service. He contributed to the defense of his country with bravery and honor.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Sam had a zest for life that was contagious. He held many interests close to his heart – trains fascinated him as he spent countless hours immersed in their intricate worlds. Additionally, he enjoyed the thrill of motorcycles and fast cars, cherishing every moment spent exploring the open road.

Sam's loving home was adorned with cherished memories that will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who shared his journey. He peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his beloved wife LaVonda Ransom – a testament to their enduring love and unbreakable bond.

Family meant everything to Sam; he cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. As a dedicated father to Brent and Brian, he instilled in them values of integrity and kindness which they carry forward today. His grandchildren – Gavin, Victoria, Stella, Evelyn, Reece, Johnathan, Topanga – were a source of immeasurable joy for Pops. Their laughter echoed through his home and brought warmth to his soul. His great-grandchildren – Easton, Emma, Lakyn, Everleigh, Ellamae, Madelynn – held a special place in Pop's heart, and he eagerly awaited the arrival of a new addition to the family.

Sam leaves behind a grieving family united in their love and memories of him. He is survived by his wife, LaVonda Ransom, whose unwavering support and devotion provided strength to his journey. Brandy Pritchard – daughter-in-law; Connie Thompson and husband Don, Cathy Gilespie, Cynthian Pritchard, Clarissa Gasper and husband Greg - Samuel's siblings - shared an unbreakable bond that was etched in a lifetime of shared experiences.
