Shelton Lamar "Pete" Carter Sr. age 71 of Bismarck died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in Arkadelphia. He was born September 8, 1940 in McComb, Mississippi the son of the late Percy and Louise Sullivan Carter. Pete was a U. S. Army veteran, retired from Southwest Medical Center in McComb, Mississippi and a member of DeRoche Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife fifty-one years, Francis Oneida Keeton Carter; four children, Shelton Carter Jr. of Bismarck, Percy Carter of Little Rock, Jimmy Huff of Claremore, Oklahoma and Brenda Caudle of Springfield, Missouri; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. He was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, July 20th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Interment will be in DeRoche Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
