Shirley Marie Beard, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy. Born on January 24, 1953, in Houston, Arkansas, Shirley touched the lives of all who knew her with her infectious laughter and kind-hearted nature.

Shirley dedicated many years of her life serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Mount Carmel and various other healthcare facilities. She was known for her unwavering commitment to caring for others. Her compassion and gentle spirit brought comfort to others during their most vulnerable moments.

Beyond her professional achievements, Shirley was a true force of nature when it came to enjoying life. She embraced every moment with enthusiasm and a zest that inspired those around her. Fondly known as the "Party Granny," Shirley had an incredible ability to create a fun-filled atmosphere wherever she went. Her sense of humor and youthful spirit made her everyone's favorite grandma.

Shirley was deeply devoted to her family and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and their friends. The love she had for them was immeasurable. One would often find her engaged in various activities alongside them.  She cherished these precious moments and treasured the bonds she formed with each one of them.

Independence was one of Shirley's defining qualities. She fearlessly took on any challenge that came her way, tackling home repairs such as mowing the yard or replacing floors in her house - there was no task too difficult for her to handle. She was a shining example of resilience and strength.

The void left by Shirley's departure will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her. Her loving husband, Gordon Andrew Beard Sr., mother whom she loved dearly, Katherine Kelly Johnson Chism; father, C.W. Johnson; and brother, Cecil Johnson preceded her in death and are greeting her with open arms.

Shirley is survived by two sons: Delbert Dale Wilson and Bradley Ray Wilson. She was a doting grandmother to Cessalie Coulter and her husband Joe, Tiffany Lovell, Brandon Wilson and his wife Kristen, Travis Wilson, and Cody Wilson and his wife Madison. Her incredible spirit will continue to live on through her great-grandchildren: Easton Coulter, Weston Coulter, Carsen Harmon, and Tripp Lovell.

In addition to her immediate family, Shirley leaves behind a supportive network of siblings who will forever cherish memories of their time together including her brothers: Jimmy Johnson, Kenny Johnson, John Johnson, Timothy Chism, and Kimble Chism; and her sisters: Sandra Cericola and Randi Richmond.

A host of relatives and friends also join in remembering Shirley's remarkable life. Their lives were enriched by her presence, and they will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
