Shirley J. Bowman, 74, of Little Rock Arkansas passed away on Saturday morning, January 22nd at Spring Hill Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock, AR. Visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Zoe Bible Church . Funeral will be held at 11:00 am. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Zoe Bible Church 1209 Pratt Rd. Little Rock, AR.

Shirley was born on March 13, 1947 in Little Rock, AR. to Leanna Lawson Pate. Shirley grew up in Little Rock, AR. and graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1966. She attended Arkansas A & M which now is known as University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where she received a certificate as a Certified Nurse Assistant. Shirley worked for Arkansas Baptist Hospital and St. Vincent as an Operating Room Technician (Surgical Technologist).

She enjoyed reading, walking at the track, baking, sewing, quilting, and attending church. She loved cooking and was an avid collector of cookbooks. She also enjoyed traveling and talking with her best friend Ms. Lillie Jackson, fishing with Elijah and absolutely loved getting her hair styled by her granddaughter. She took great pleasure in serving at church and was a caregiver to many patients over the years with home health care and used her expertise to provide specialized care for her mother Leola Wilkins. Shirley loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and enjoyed taking pictures with them.  Shirley and Elijah Bowman found each other later in life and were married 31 years. Shirley was a proud member of Zoe Bible Church in Little Rock, AR. where she served many years.

Shirley was preceded in death by her mother’s Leola Wilkins and Leanna Lawson Pate, her son Ricky Wilkins, and husband Elijah Bowman. She is survived by her sons Christopher (Masharia) Wilkins of St. Petersburg, FL; Steven (Chandra) Madden of Cordova, TN; her daughters Cordelia (James) Henson of Little Rock, AR; Constance (Andre) Madden-Lightner of Little Rock, AR; her siblings Bertha (Cornet) Pollard; Howard Tucker; Clemmie (Dorothy) Tucker; Marylyn Tucker; William Tucker; Diane Gregory; Sandra Nelson; Annette (Odis)Towner; Theresa Tucker; Pauline Tucker; Pamela Allen; Sharron (Michael) Tharnish; Robert (Ofelia)Tucker; Victor Tucker; her grandchildren Dave Gordon; Kaprichia Hendricks; Sara Morris; Terion Madden-Green; Caitlin Pusha; Nasja Wilkins; Cuartlin Lightner; Sabehn Madden; Spencer Kimble; Amari Wilkins; her great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
