Shirley Anne Davis

Shirley Anne (Spears) Davis, age 74, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 21st, at her home in Roseboro surrounded by her family and loved ones. 

She was born on September 17, 1949 in Roseboro, the daughter of Charlie and Maggie Craig Spears. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edmund (Mac) Davis; her three brothers, Marlon Joe Spears, Charles (Wooten) Spears, and Ricky Spears; her four sisters Virginia Quinones, Edna Hekert, Judy Miller, and Elaine Wilder; and one foster son Johnny Ray Spears. 

She is survived by her three children, one daughter, Tina Davis, two sons, Edmund (Mackey) Davis, and Jonathan and Susan Davis; her grandchildren, Andrea and Dallas Young, Aymee and Craig Vincent, Greg and Jessie Davis, Jonathan Davis, Natalie and Hunter Milam, Scarlett and Marlon Taylor, Tristan Davis, Madison Davis, Leah Davis, and Carson Davis; one brother, Bobby Allen Spears of Roseboro; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

Shirley was a beacon of love and kindness to everyone who knew her. Her door was always open, along with supper on the stove, and good conversation. Known as “Candy Grandma”, she made sure there was always some for her babies. She enjoyed fishing, playing poker, and finding the best yard sales!

A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Smith Family Funeral Home- Glenwood.
