Shirley Ann (Howard) Simpson, age 80, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed the cares of this life on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Shirley was born March 20, 1942, to the late Noah and Sylvia (Duff) Howard in Paragould.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Howard and Sylvia Theola (Duff) Howard; her brother, James Howard; sister, Johnnie Bruce, and sister, Clara “Liz” Snyder.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her children Charles L. Simpson (Veronica) of Sherwood, Arkansas and Paula A. Link (Steve) of Harvest, Alabama. Grandchildren Robert E. Simpson, Charles N. Simpson, Nicholas J. Simpson, Jennifer N. Marbrey (Tyler) and Brett M. Pierce (Katie). One great grandchild, Millie L. Marbrey.

Shirley retired from AT&T (Lucent Technologies) after 30 years of service. After which time she became very involved in community activities in the Rose City area of North Little Rock. She served as the President of the Rose City Neighborhood Association for several years and was a huge advocate for supporting environmental efforts within her community.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022; 11:00AM (CST), Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, 404 West Dewitt Drive, Beebe, Arkansas. There will be a grave side service only and the family invites all who wish to share in special memories of Shirley, to please feel free to share during this celebration of her life.

The family graciously invites you to please join us for lunch at Casa Mojito’s Mexican Restaurant, 1911 W. Dewitt Henry Drive, Beebe, Arkansas immediately following the services.
