Sonny Prince

Sonny Prince, age 83, of Glenwood, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

He was born on January 2, 1940, in Delight.  He was preceded in death by his parents, L.C. Prince, Ella Faye Kelley Prince Burke and John Burke; and his brother, Billy Burke.

Sonny was Baptist in his faith and worked for many years in the heating and air business.  He was an avid fisherman, and even built and spent lots of enjoyable time at his “fish camp”, because he didn't like the idea of going to deer camp since he never wanted to kill a deer.  Sonny will always be remembered for his quick wit and his joy of harassing his family and friends.  Some of his happiest times were when he was spending time with all of his buddies, especially as the entertainer, at “the shed”.

Above all, Sonny loved his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.    

He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Prince of Glenwood; his children, Kelley Prince of Glenwood and John Prince and his wife, Shauna, of Hot Springs; his granddaughter, Sarah Prince; his brother, Mike Prince; his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Johnette and Joe Beene of Glenwood and Lynne and Ritchie Sorrells of San Antonio, Texas; his very special fur-baby, Bernie; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

A visitation will be held 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 26, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, 209 North Third Street, Glenwood, AR 71943.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the Nightingale at Glenwood (formerly Glenwood Health and Rehab) for all of the kind and loving care they gave to our Sonny.
