On August 8th, 2024 Stanley Finis Green better known as husband, dad, and poppy (pop) was completely healed and is now walking the streets of gold with his Lord and Savior Jesus. Born in Hot Springs, AR April 13, 1948 to Finis Smith Green and Mildred Stanley Green.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Sidney and Mark Green.
He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn; his two daughters, Robyn(Phil) Hartsfield and Maryann(Clint) Naney; step-daughter, Marcia Buckner; two grand-daughters, Haylee Barnett, Allee Hartsfield; two grand-sons, Lane and Cole Naney; great-grandson, Tayton Stanley Barnett; sister, Janice(Bobby) West and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
At the age of eleven, Stanley asked Jesus into his heart, was saved, and became an active member at Norman First Baptist Church where he was the longest standing member and attended until his passing. He was a 1966 graduate of Norman High School and upon graduation he attended Eaton Barber School where he graduated as a master barber. He later joined the Navy as a master barber on the aircraft carrier the USS Independence during the Vietnam Era. After being discharged from the Navy he started work at a barbershop in Hot Springs and then Norman. In addition to that he also cut billets as a side business. In 1972 he started Stanley Green Logging with the support of his father and was fortunate enough to have his uncles work with him. His favorite part of his logging career was being able to skid with his horses and mules. He enjoyed working in the log woods for 28 years until his retirement in 2000. If you ever came across Stanley you know that he was always trying to make people laugh with his jokes and pranks. He had a passion for raising and caring for his horses as well as always keeping his family busy with different projects.
Pallbearers will be, Lane Naney, Cole Naney, Tayton Barnett, Clint Naney, Mark Green, Phil Hartsfield, Rodney Standridge, and David McCarter.
Honorary Pallbearers will be, Darren Bardwell, Mike Lokey, and members of Norman First Baptist Church, and Norman High School graduating class of 1966.
The family would like to thank Mena Elite Hospice and the Little Rock VA Hospice for the great care and respect they provided to Stanley.
A graveside service will be held on Monday August 12th at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Black Springs, Ar.
