Stephan Michael Snow, born June 23, 1972, in Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on March 24, 2026. He lived a life defined by service, love, and generosity—leaving behind a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Stephan proudly served 22 years in the United States Navy as an Equipment Operator and Seabee. His dedication and bravery were recognized with many honors, including the Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Bronze Star, NATO Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Bronze Hourglass and “M” device, Navy Pistol Sharpshooter Ribbon, and Expert Rifle Medal, among others.
After his distinguished military career, Stephan continued his lifelong commitment to public service as Captain of the Department of Defense Pine Bluff Arsenal Fire Department.
Those who knew Stephan will remember his warmth, compassion, and fun-loving spirit. He had an easy way of bringing people together, always ready to lend a hand and never expecting anything in return. His family was his greatest source of pride, and he especially loved being “Pop Pop” to his grandchildren—a role he embraced with boundless joy. Time spent playing with them and making memories was what he treasured most.
A talented woodworker, Stephan loved carving and crafting, often making pieces that reflected his creativity and care. He enjoyed working outdoors and took pride in maintaining his home and the peaceful pond he built—a favorite gathering place for loved ones. Music was also one of his passions, and his guitar often filled the house with the sound of songs and stories that reflected his kind heart.
Stephan is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Kate Snow of Benton, Arkansas; children Isabella Gokey (Jason) of Bauxite, Gael Snow (Grace) of Benton, and Stephen Gage Snow of Conway; and grandchildren Paxton Gokey, Penelope Gokey, Ruby Snow, and a baby expected in October 2026. He is also survived by his mother, Sharon (Spilovoy) Snow; his twin sister Stephanie Snow-Malcom (Craig) of Hot Springs; sister April Snow of Hot Springs; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who deeply loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Snow.
A visitation to celebrate Stephan’s life will be held on March 30, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:30 PM, at Smith Family Funeral Home Benton, 322 N Market Street, Benton, Arkansas.
Stephan will be remembered for his courage, humor, and the love he shared so freely. His generosity, strength, and joyful spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him.
