Steve Cole

Stephen Cole, 87, of Little Rock, passed away June 9, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and great-uncle.

Steve worked 40 years for the Iowa Des Moines Register. He was a contributor to the United Way. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by wife of 55 years, Ruth Ann Cole; son, William “Billy” Spicer and his parents.

He is survived by his children, Jim Spicer (Dianna Johnson) and Kathy Root; sister Linda Giger; grandchildren, Jim Root, Tracy Stumbo (Scott), Chris Spicer (Julie), Nick Spicer (Megan), Aaron Spicer and Kayla Spicer; great-grandchildren, Grace Stumbo and Harrison Spicer; niece and nephews, Steve Giger and Torrie Cobb; great-nieces and nephew, Angela, Kennedy and Lofton.

Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 pm Monday, June 20 at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Court. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 21 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1321 S. Van Buren Street, Little Rock. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 AR-5, Alexander.
