Steve Van Pelt 54, of Sherwood passed away April 16, 2017. He was born January 12, 1963. Survivors include one son Thomas Joseph "T.J." Van Pelt; his parents Albert and Martha Van Pelt; three brothers: Albert Jr., Kirk (Kelly) and Scott Van Pelt (Lisa); and grandmother Maxine Kirk. Nieces Jackie, Brianna, Katie and Hannah Van Pelt. Two nephews James and Alex Van Pelt. One great niece, Mackenzie Peters and one great nephew, Ashton Van Pelt. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Albert and Mauryne Van Pelt and maternal grandfather Eddie Kirk.
He graduated from Sylvan Hills High school and from University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He worked 24 years as a loyal employee for Cope Plastics in Maumelle and was a Senior Account Manager. He was also a part time loyal employee at Does Eat Place for 20 years.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed floating the Buffalo River with friends and family. Steve was a lifelong Razorback fan and also enjoyed going to the Catholic High School football games when T.J. was playing. Steve was a friend to many and will be truly missed.
A celebration wake will be held on Saturday April 22, from 2:00-6:00 PM at The Park on the River,11903 Crystal Hill Road, Maumelle, AR.
