Steven Lyal Defrese

Steven L. Defrese, 59, of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023. Born in Watsonville, California, to Ray and Phyllis (Wilfawn) Defrese, he was a construction superintendent with Dave Grundfest Co.

He is survived by his brother, Dennis Defrese (Wynell) of Tennessee; sister, Kim Reese (Marty) of Eudora; nieces, Courtney Hooper (Alan) and Jessica Hand (Cliff); nephews, Jeremy Defrese (Laura), Andrew Lewey (Alexis), Nicholas Lewey (Joanna), and Hunter Young (Jamie); and eleven great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Phyllis Defrese and sister, Melanie Montgomery.

Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 4-6 p.m., at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.)
