Steven Frances "Led" Ledbetter

Steven Frances Ledbetter, age 63, of Hot Springs, AR, passed away June 12th, 2024. He was born August 14, 1960, to the late AC and Francis Ledbetter of Benton, AR. Steven was a good man, who enjoyed the simple things in life.

Steven received his nursing degree at Henderson State University, then earned his master's degree in Gerontology at UAMS. He retired from the VA hospital in NLR, where he worked as a nurse practitioner (MS APRN). During his tenure as an APRN, he devoted many hours to the Charitable Christian Medical Clinic in Garland, as well as Saline County, providing free care to those in need. He also enjoyed dressing up and playing Santa Clause at various nursing homes. Steven was an Eagle Scout and strived to live by their code.

Steven also enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fisherman. His friends have many fond memories of their trout fishing trips on the White and Red River, and he and his wife, Susan, often hosted friends and family at their home on Lake Catherine, where he once caught a rare white albino catfish.

Steven is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Susan Samples; his brother: Michael Ledbetter (Raquel) of Benton; his fur babies; as well as numerous nieces, and a nephew.

In celebration of Steven’s life, a visitation will be held Tuesday, July 2nd, from 1:00-2:00 p.m., with a service immediately following from 2:00-3:00 p.m., at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., in Benton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hot Springs Charitable Christian Medical Clinic, 133 Arbor St., Hot Springs, AR, 71901.

Although Steven may have left this earth, he will never leave our hearts.
