Sue Castle

Sue Sale Castle, 81, entered her heavenly home on May 9, 2025. Born on June 23, 1943, to the late Marion and Elba Rogers Sale, Sue lived a life defined by her deep faith, boundless love for her family, and selfless devotion to others.

Sue is lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Robin Steinmetz and husband Robert of Conway, and Allison Ward and husband Matt of Sherwood; seven grandchildren: Luke, Nick (and wife Genevieve), Jake (and fiancée Harli), and Natalie Steinmetz, Abby, Aja, and JJ Ward; her sister: Beth Taylor; two brothers: Joe Sale and wife Mary Ann, and Dale Sale and wife Ethel; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her former husband of 38 years, Cary Castle, and their infant son, Frederick Christopher Castle.

A lifelong follower of Jesus Christ, Sue's faith guided her every step. She was a dedicated and loving mother and "Nana," known for her unwavering support of her grandchildren. From cheering at sporting events and attending recitals and school productions, to simply being present in the moment, she spoke often and proudly of her grandchildren, celebrating their every accomplishment with joy.

Her heart for children extended far beyond her own family. Sue served faithfully as an elementary teacher, Sunday school teacher, and academic interventionist. She also ministered to countless young adults through her work with Abstinence by Choice and the Caring Hearts Pregnancy Center. Everything Sue did—whether in the classroom, the church, or the community—was rooted in her desire to advance the Kingdom of God and reflect His love to those around her.

Sue grew up in Magnolia, Arkansas, and earned an elementary education degree from Southern Arkansas University. She never met a stranger and was a devoted friend to many, ranging from high school and college friends that she never lost touch with, to recent friends that she made with ease. She enjoyed cheering for the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Kansas City Chiefs, attending concerts and theater productions, and savoring quiet moments watching hummingbirds and sunsets. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

Sue’s favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 43:1: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine.”

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15th at First Assembly of God in North Little Rock, with a visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m.
