Sue Griebel “Nana”, born on July 2, 1935, in Des Arc, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, in Little Rock. She leaves behind a cherished legacy marked by her warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her career and family.

For over 48 years, Sue was a devoted Microbiologist at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), where her professionalism and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and those she served. With her remarkable ability to connect with people, Sue never met a stranger. Wherever she went, she made a significant impact on those around her, showcasing her genuine care for others.

Sue was a longtime member of Christ Church, where she enjoyed her role as a greeter and volunteer alongside her many cherished friends. Her faith played a vital role in her life, guiding her interactions and enriching her relationships within the community.

Sue is survived by her five children: Linda Houff (Donald), Teri Murdock (Joe), James Griebel (Jamie), Billy Ray Bailey, and Jackie Perkins. She was also adored by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her nurturing spirit and boundless love. In addition, she is remembered fondly by her brother, Clarence Edwards (Judy).

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Gladys Edwards, as well as many siblings. She also mourned the loss of her sons, Mike Griebel and Butch Griebel, as well as her grandchildren, Parker Scheppler and Marcus Griebel.

As we remember Sue Griebel, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose legacy will continue to thrive in the hearts of all those she touched.
