Sue Sheets

Sue Sheets, age 71, of Hot Springs, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022.

She was born on March 24, 1951, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Willie Yule Burroughs and Helen Margaret Ewing Burroughs.  On August 10, 1973, she married Aaron Sheets who preceded her in death on June 21, 2008.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and brother-in-law, Joann and Stoney Jackson and Mary Lou Jackson; and her granddaughter, Destiny Sheets.

Sue was a Christian in her faith and was a Mountain Pine Red Devil Graduate of the Class of 1970.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her precious grandbabies and great-grandbabies, who lovingly called her, “Nanny”.   Anytime she could spend time with her family was a happy time, they were the love of her life.  Sue loved reading, writing, playing video games on her computer, going to the casino and enjoyed watching horse races.  But one of her favorite times was going out to eat with family and friends and oh, how she loved her sweets and root beer floats.   Her cheerful attitude and smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sue is survived by her children, Sharon and Wayne Garrett and Michael and Audrey Sheets; her grandchildren, Brittany and Jason Sutton, Joseph and Annette Garrett, Kimberly Garrett and William Lewis, Karrington Sheets, Rian Sheets, John Sheets, Alexa Sheets, Joshua Sheets, Jessie Sheets and Neiko Sheets; twelve great-grandchildren, Chloe, Allyson, Emma, Isaac, Mia Rose, Ensley, Alexander, Tucker, Damien, Sebestian, Attikus and Teagan; her brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Bernadine Burroughs and Neal and Sue Burroughs; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and many good friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Rev. Mike Smith officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
