Suzanne LaShelle Jendrejas, 83, of North Little Rock, passed away on Saturday, January 4. Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, brother Winston LaShelle, sister Evelyn McCutcheon, and husband Alphonse D. Jendrejas. She is survived by her brother, Michael (Jodi) LaShelle, and her four children, Edward (Linda) Grimes, Gary Grimes, Cynthia (Robert) Jordan, and John (Dianna) Dougan. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Suzanne was born on January 10th, 1941, to Edward A. and Hazel Bash LaShelle in Zanesville, Ohio. As a teenager, Suzanne loved to dance and enthusiastically attended dance lessons. As an adult, she was a loyal, long-time employee at Baptist Memorial Hospital in North Little Rock, serving its patients for decades as an Environmental Services technician. Suzanne was also a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Marche, which she attended with her husband.
In her down time, Suzanne enjoyed photography, constantly snapping photos with her Polaroid and proudly displaying her beloved photo albums, which were filled with pictures of family as her network of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren grew. An enthusiastic traveler, she looked forward to regular trips to Hot Springs. She could often be found on a Greyhound bus heading to Ohio, Florida, and Tennessee to visit her grandchildren, ready to hand out the coloring books, crayons, and giant tins of popcorn she packed carefully in her suitcase.
Generous and plain-speaking, Suzanne always had a smile on her face and a can of Coke in her hand. She will be remembered with love.
Her funeral will be Saturday, January 11, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church beginning with visitation at 10:00 am, followed by the Rosary at 10:30 am, and the Mass at 11:00 o'clock. Burial will be at a later date.
The family would like to thank the nurses from Arkansas Hospice and the staff at The Lakes at Maumelle for their love and kindnesses extended to Suzanne.
