Suzanne Ellen Tanner of North Little Rock, Arkansas died April 30, 2025 of natural causes at her home. She was 61.

Suzanne was born August 15,1963 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Homer and Hope Tanner. She is survived by numerous loyal friends including David Boyd and Cathy Brown, as well as numerous cousins including Tricia Griffith Darby and Stephanie Worden Courtney.

Suzanne graduated from North Little Rock Northeast High School in 1981. She continued her education at Hendrix College where she graduated with a BA in Psychology in 1985. She went on to graduate from the University of Central Arkansas with a MS in Counseling Psychology in 1992.

Suzanne was employed with Argenta Counseling and Wellness at the time of her death. Prior to that, she worked with several other agencies providing counseling and mental health service to clients.

Suzanne was a lover of animals, especially dogs. Her first dog, a Beagle named Zipper, was her childhood companion. During Suzanne’s adult life, she was a champion for the rescue community and posted daily about local dogs in need of adoption. She was loving mother to many dogs, too numerous to count, during her adult life.

Suzanne enjoyed cross stitching and made several close friends over the years in the stitching community. She loved the Beatles, Peanuts/Snoopy, reading, collecting Hallmark Christmas ornaments, attending concerts, and visiting craft fairs.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 17th at 1:30pm with visitation starting at 12:30pm at Smith Family Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Interment will be at Rest Hills Memorial Park following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County, CARE for Animals, Out of the Woods Animal Rescue of Arkansas, or other dog rescue organization of your choosing.
