Syble Hope Thomas, age 80, of Lodi, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018. She was born on September 25, 1938, the daughter of James Levi Cowart and Allie Mae Welch Cowart. She was preceded her in death by her parents; her brothers, Leon Cowart, Frazier Cowart, Clidus Cowart and Burl Cowart. Syble was a Christian in her faith and a member of the Pilgrim Rest Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. She attended the Glenwood Senior Adult Center and enjoyed quilting, cooking and reading her Bible. She loved being in the presence of her family. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sandy Thomas of Colleyville, Texas; two granddaughters, Melissa Ritchie and her husband, Garrison, of Providence Village, Texas and Miranda Thomas of Colleyville, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Emmeline Ritchie and Steyr Ritchie; one brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Frances Cowart of Lodi; three sisters, Mildred Raybon of Pearcy, Linnie Mae Wacaster and Margie Dean, both of Hot Springs; three sisters-in-law, Velma Cowart, Faye Cowart and Viola Cowart, all of Lodi; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at the Pilgrim Rest Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Lodi with Bro. Kyle Cowart and Bro. Bobby Golden officiating. Interment will be in the Lodi Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Mike Cowart, Darrell Cowart, Scott Cowart, Graig Cowart, Craig Cowart and Mark Cowart. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
