Syble Kaplon

Syble Inez Kaplon, 79, of North Little Rock went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. She was born on September 3, 1937 in Lost Corner, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Howard Clay and Alice Simmons May.
Syble attended North Little Rock High and married the love of her life, the late Valentine Kaplon, on July 31, 1954. She went on to work as a data entry operator for the state of Arkansas until her retirement. She was a member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church where she loved attending her Seekers' Sunday School Class.
Although she had no children of her own, Syble was a 'mother' to many children in the community. She will always be remembered for her giving spirit and gift of hospitality. She loved fishing and the outdoors, telling family stories, baking cookies, playing Scrabble, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her siblings, Ina Lucille Boll (Marvin), Emma Jean Roberts (Curly, predeceased), June Marie Harness (Clytee, predeceased), and Earl May (Chom). She is also survived by other extended family, including nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Valentine Kaplon; her parents; and her half-brother, Raymond Grimes.

A visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2017 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Cedar Heights Baptist Church, 14510 Cedar Heights Road, North Little Rock. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
