Tavia Perry Weidmann

Tavia Perry Weidmann, age 78, of Hot Springs, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

She was born on February 14, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of William Reavley Perry and Jewell Grady Perry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Weidmann; her parents; and one daughter, Melissa Loyd.

Most of her youth was spent at the Perry Plaza Motel on Park Avenue which her family built and operated. Tavia was the owner of Play Mates Children’s Clothing Boutique in the 1980’s. She served as a city alderman and worked for many years for the State of Arkansas in the Driver Control division. She also was the director for Ouachita Area United Fund in Camden, she was instrumental in many activities including the annual holiday meal drive. Tavia was the director of the Women’s Crisis Center in Camden, where she helped turn many lives around. She loved to boat on Lake Hamilton. She loved to cook and was an avid reader. One of her favorite pastimes was doing word search puzzles next to her husband, Bob, as he did his crossword puzzles. She took care of any and all of God’s creations, making a difference for many people and animals. Family meant everything to her and raising them was her most important job. She has many dear friends and family that loved her and will miss her greatly.

She is survived by her children, Fred “Rusty” Loyd, Jr. (Karen R. Loyd) and their children, Brandon (Hailey) Loyd and Benjamin Loyd, Liz Ann Loyd, Mari Weidmann Sutterfield (Chris) and their children, Ellie, Zoe and Lucas, all of Hot Springs, Chip Weidmann and family of Camden and Valerie Weidmann Koehr and family of North Carolina; grandchildren, Tiffany Kilzer-Cummins (Jason) and Candance Muzny (Grant); Tavia's great-grandchildren are Joey, Cole, Emma, Gunner, Paisley, Spencer, Maleea, Adlee and Julia; her favorite fur child, Jaxson; extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Celebration of Life service 2:00PM, Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church, 213 Whittington Avenue, Hot Springs. A reception will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall.
