Terence Mathew Stankevitz, 87, passed away on March 3, 2026. He was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin and preceded in death by parents, Louis and Minnie Stankevitz, his wife of 59 years Sarah Imogene (Jean) Stankevitz, his son Keith M. Stankevitz and all 11 brothers and sisters. He was last born of his siblings.

He is survived by his son Timothy F. Stankevitz of Vilonia, step-grandson Rick and his wife and three step-great-grandchildren. Keith’s widow Deena G. Stankevitz “has been my caregiver and a person I have relied on for everything I ever needed. She was more like a daughter to me instead of a daughter-in-law.”

Terence joined the Air Force upon high school graduation in 1956. He served for twenty years. His main duties in Air Force were supervising the loading of bombs, rockets, missiles and other types of munitions on military aircraft.

He spent one year as Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of 180 aerial gunners on AC-130 Gunships, He flew 105 combat missions mainly over the Ho Chi Ming trail in Laos destroying truck convoys from North Vietnam. As a result of these missions he was awarded three Distinguished Flying Crosses and eight Air Medals.

Upon retirement from the Air Force, he worked for the Internal Revenue Service.

He was a longtime member of Parkway Place Church. He worked with a group of retired men doing odd jobs every Wednesday until health forced him to stop. He was also a member of the “GOBS” (good old boys), that met monthly and supported schools and veterans. He was an avid deer hunter.

A visitation will be held at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home (8801 Knoedl Court) on March 10, 2026, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
