Terry Lee Bishop

Terry Lee Bishop, 85, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026. He was born May 31, 1940, in Hope, Arkansas, to the late Andrew and Etta Mae Bishop.

Terry lived a life rich in stories, laughter, and friendships. If you spent more than a few minutes with him, chances are you heard a story — and if you spent longer, you probably heard the same one again, only better. He told jokes with a twinkle in his eye and a grin that let you know he was enjoying the moment just as much as everyone else.

He had a rare gift for collecting people. Friends came from all walks of life, and no one stayed a stranger for long. Terry was everyone’s friend, everyone’s uncle, everyone’s dad — whether you were technically related or not. He had a way of making people feel like they belonged, like they mattered, like they had known him forever.

Terry briefly served in the United States Marines, but his life’s true devotion was to his family and the many friends who became family along the way. He showed his love through conversation, humor, and simply being present.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Audrey Bishop, whose memory he carried with him always.

Terry is survived by his son, Terrence Bishop, and his wife, Judy Bishop; his sisters, Leila Walton and Marjorie Nelson; Britni Stafford and her husband, Dallas; and Reggie Hicks and his wife, Sarah Hicks. He had six grandchildren: Lucas and Lauren Bishop, Miles and Kailyn Hicks, and Solana and Shane Stafford. He also leaves behind countless friends who will miss his voice, his laughter, and the warmth he brought into every room.

Terry Lee Bishop will be remembered for his stories, his humor, his generous heart, and the extraordinary way he made people feel at home with him. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched — one conversation at a time.
