Thelma Laverne Shaw, 94, went to be with the Lord on Friday evening June 21, 2019. Thelma was born on January 16, 1925 to the late Tom and Flora (Owen) Snodgrass in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Thelma was a member of Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, playing bingo and shopping in her early years and loved doing word search puzzles more recently.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years Edgar Mac Shaw and one sister; Violet Rhodes. She is survived by one son, Gregory Shaw of Benton, Arkansas; grandson: Gregory Dane Shaw; great-grandchildren: Lydia, Tyson, Ella and Addison Shaw; one brother: Leo Snodgrass; three sisters: Shirley George, Eula Mae Branning and Maxine Hunter all of Hot Springs; a host of other nieces and nephews, family, and friends who will miss her greatly.
Reception visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Friday, June 28 with Celebration of Life service following at 11:00 AM at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas.
