Therie Lee (Greathouse) Wiggins

Therie Lee (Greathouse) Wiggins, age 94, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas at Briarwood Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Therie was born on February 1, 1932, in Tollette, Arkansas. She lived a long and meaningful life centered around faith, family, laughter, and kindness toward others. In a touching moment of timing, Therie passed during the same month as her birthday and had the opportunity to celebrate surrounded by the love of those closest to her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ermon Louis Wiggins, whom she has now joined in paradise; and by two of her children, Brenda Johnson and Dennis Berthia as well as her grandson Dexter J. Smith.

Therie leaves behind her loving children Donna Andrews, Therie Eichelberger, Erma Wiggins, and Ashleigh Wiggins, along with many cherished grandchildren that she loved so tenderly:  Keisha Andrews Wiliford, Holly Eichelberger, Gregory Eichelberger, Evoni Houston, Oscar Bratton, Aurielle Morgan, Christina Johnson, Keitha Berthia, and Toni Berthia, as well as a host of great-grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy to whom she loved so very much. Therie is also survived by her loved sister, Barbara Brown.

Therie worked as a switchboard operator at First National Bank, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of work, she found great happiness in traveling, cruising, listening to music, and taking road trips, always enjoying the adventure and the company of those she loved. She also loved gardening, caring for her home, hosting holidays for her family, and baking and cooking for those she loved. She had a special love for anything sweet and truly enjoyed making life festive, often bringing joy and warmth to gatherings with her delicious treats and celebratory spirit.

She was an exceptional woman who deeply loved her family and adored her husband.

Therie had a wonderful sense of humor, and her laughter kept her spirit youthfulthroughout her life. She never met a stranger and had a gift for connecting with people, often greeting others with her bright and beautiful smile.

Therie’s life was guided by her strong faith and love for her Heavenly Father. She will be remembered for her storytelling, humor, compassion, kindness, and the warmth she shared so freely with everyone around her.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Briarwood Nursing and Rehabilitation and Fox Ridge in Bryant, who embraced Therie with kindness and formed friendships with her that will be treasured forever. We would also like to thank each CNA who had the opportunity to grow close with our mother throughout the years. Your compassion, patience, and care helped keep her comfortable, and for that we are forever grateful. Special appreciation is extended to the incredible staff at Hospice Home Care in Bryant and Little Rock for their compassion, support, and the love they showed throughout her journey. Thank you for everything.

Therie meant so much to so many and had a special way of surrounding others with love that could be felt by everyone in her presence. If you spent time with her, you knew she believed in enjoying life fully and often reminded those around her that she wanted to have her flowers while she could still smell them. She encouraged others to live intentionally, cherish the time they have with one another, and spread kindness wherever they went.

Her laughter, bright smile, and loving spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. Her wish would not be for tears, but for comfort in knowing she is now at peace in heaven.

One of Therie’s favorite songs was “I’ll Take You There” by The Staple Singers, and those who knew her can almost hear the melody now — a joyful reminder that she has found her way home.

A memorial will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home in Benton on Wednesday March 4th, 2026 at 4pm.
