Thomas “Tom” Colclasure went to be with his Lord on March 25, 2024. He was born August 22, 1954, to Thomas LeRoy and Margaret Spann Colclasure in Little Rock.
He lived a full life in his sixty-nine years. From a young age, Tom liked to stay busy. He began working on motorcycles as a teenager to earn money – he loved machines! Tom also worked part-time at a local airport, where he learned to fly and earned the nickname “Piper”. As an adult, he worked at the Union Pacific Railroad at Jinks, where he retired after forty years of service.
Tom loved the great outdoors and was outside as often as possible. Some of his favorite activities included snow skiing, motor cross racing, fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, and chunking horseshoes. However, above all else, Tom loved remote-controlled autos. He spent hours building and racing these cars. Most weekends, Tom could be found at his favorite track, where he was known as “The Judge”.
He had the biggest heart and was loved by everyone who knew him. He had friends everywhere. Anytime he left the house, he would run into someone he knew, no matter where he was. Tom loved his friends dearly. He also had a special place in his great big, golden heart for his four-legged babies, who brought him endless joy. His greatest love was his large family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother Leroy “Pete” and Margaret Colclasure, sister Dottie Vanhorn, and daughter-in-law Kay Kelley.
Tom is survived by his wife Teri Colclasure, two sisters Marty Bevans and Libby Baker, daughter Wendy (Jim) Brookshire, son Brian Kelley, seven grandchildren Kayla (Patrick) Andrews, Kacee (the late Seth Stewart) Wilson, Kassidy Founds and fiancé Garrett Cram, Danyelle Kelley, Brianna Kelley, Ian Founds, Matthew Kelley and two great grandchildren Kayden Stewart and Kamryn Stewart.
While Tom will be missed dearly, we can find some peace in knowing that he has been reunited with his family and friends who left this earth too soon, as well as his beloved pets. Most importantly, he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Visitation for friends and family will be Friday evening, March 29 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W Dewitt Henry, Beebe. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, March 30th at the New Floyd Cemetery in Floyd at 11:00 a.m. Following the graveside service, beginning at 12 Noon the family will have a Celebration of Life Service at the Floyd Assembly of God Church.
