Thomas Powell Conly Sr.

Thomas Powell Conly went to be united with his Lord on July 20, 2023.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 61 years, Linda Conly, his daughter, Donna Harrison, his sons, Jay, Chris and Todd Conly, along with many grand and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Myrtis Marie Conly and brother, Harvey Crittenton Conly.

Tommy was born on August 3, 1940, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Like many Arkansans, Tommy was a vibrant Razorback fan. No visitor escaped his home without touring his Hog Room. His passion for the Razorbacks was simply another example of how he approached life. He was an athlete at Hot Springs High. Growing up as his son, it was not uncommon to meet someone that boasted about his basketball skills. He was an active and involved father and PawPaw. He demonstrated his love for his family with his presence. He was well known as Coach Conly for many years at the Boy’s Club as he coached baseball, basketball and football. All his kid’s friends felt welcomed around Mr. Conly and were often found hanging around his home. Tom also loved the outdoors and taught his children how to hunt, fish and camp. Lessons still used and enjoyed today. He never missed a family milestone moment. You could count on Tommy to be there with a smile on his face and spreading laughter. He loved to have fun.

Tom retired from Alcoa but he didn’t slow down. He stayed active with part time work including Oaklawn Park where he worked a ticket window. He joined the Elks and was a member for nineteen years. Dad lived a full and rewarding life. He will be missed by many.
