Thomas “Mickey” McGuire passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024. Born on September 3,
1940, in Hot Springs, Mickey lived a life painted with humor and adventure. Mickey is
predeceased by his parents, Thomas Lee and Myrtle Louton McGuire, as well as his brothers,
Ronald and Donald McGuire.
Mickey leaves behind his loving wife of 64 years, Pat Southerland McGuire, and twin sons,
Ronald McGuire of Jessieville and Donald McGuire of Hot Springs. He is also survived by his
sister, Joan Ledbetter, of Malvern.
His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, Katie Hall (Nate) and Ronald McGuire II, and
great-grandchildren Lukis, Seppy, Hazel, Alden, Mila, and Archer. Mickey’s grandchildren knew
they could always count on him for a good joke or help with math homework.
Mickey was a proud graduate of Hot Springs High School- Class of 1959. He retired from
Reynolds Metals and the Garland County Road Department where he was known as a precise,
hard worker. His hobbies included boat racing and street rods. He never missed a NASCAR
race on tv.
Mickey was a member of the National Park Corvette Club and Hot Springs Cruisers car club.
His animated presence will be missed by car club and breakfast friends.
The family would like to thank the National Park Hospital Emergency Department, Med-Surg,
and ICU units for care of Mickey in his last days as well as Encompass Rehab, Family Medicine
Clinic, and Dr. English and Staff.
Visitation will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Smith Family Funeral Home in
Hot Springs with a service starting immediately after, at 11AM. Burial will follow at Oma
Cemetery.
