Thomas Charles Mize

Thomas Charles Mize, age 79 of Beebe, Arkansas went to his heavenly home Thursday, September 25th, after a brief battle with cancer. Charles (as known to everyone) was born February 8, 1946, in California, where his family traveled every year to work in the agriculture fields. He returned to Arkansas where he met “the love of his life”, Patricia Mae Steward.

Charles and Pat were married for 60 years and made many special memories together. Charles worked for the Arkansas Transportation System, then studied to become an electrician and became a licensed “Master Electrician.” Charles Mize was considered one of the best electricians in the state of Arkansas and was sought after by many major companies.

Charles loved his Lord and that was very evident in that he was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and a very devoted member and a strong believer in his faith. He was a member of the Belmont Chapel Church in Vilonia. Charles and Pat were truly animal lovers, and his farm always had a large diverse group of animals that were loved and well cared for. Charles and Pat enjoyed trail riding with friends and neighbors. Rabbit and coon hunting was another hobby that he enjoyed often and the stories that went with the hunt.

Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife Pat, his precious daughter Kari Huff, his parents Preston and Helan Mize, sister Letha Hendrickson, sister Shirley Marvin, brother Howard Mize, all of Conway, and sister Ressie Keith of Van Buren.

He is survived by his very loving and devoted daughter, Cindy Alumbaugh, and loving son-in-law, Everett of McCrory; grandsons (who Charles was truly proud of) Ty Everett and Tarzan Thomas Alumbaugh, and step-grandson Zeke Alumbaugh, also of McCrory. Charles was blessed to have two great grandchildren Berkley and Bennet of McCrory, and son-in-law Boyd Huff of Charlotte, Arkansas; two very “special” grandsons who meant a great deal to Charles, Jacob and Justin Wooley of Vilonia. He also had a “special person” who he thought of as a son, Todd Mize of Conway. A very “special lady” that helped Charles a great deal after losing his wife to get back to the enjoyment and happiness of life and helped him in his sickness and that the family will always be eternally grateful to, Sandy Ramsey. She helped with his heavenly transition with dignity and grace and with the help of her daughters, Melinda, Teresa and Cindy. Also, special friends who have been wonderful to the Mize family in good times and sicknesses Kristi and Shelby Payne. God Bless You All!

Charles’s world revolved around his family. He was an exceptional role model, advisor, and “true friend”, but most important a very loving, kind and giving “PaPa”!

His smile and laughter, which he was always known for, will be sorely missed by his family and friends who looked for his love and guidance every day! “Go Rest High” Thomas Charles Mize! You Deserve It!
