Thomas "Tom" Parker, 65, of Little Rock passed away Thursday, November 17, 2011. He served in the United States Air Force, where he was a weather observer and studied meteorology. He owned and operated County Corvette and The Corvette Place. He had a passion for drag racing and brought the sport to inner Little Rock by opening the State Fairgrounds Dragway and over the years he managed Carlisle Dragway, I-30 Dragway and Prescott Dragway. He had a great love and compassion for animals and will be missed by his boxer, Hallie.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Debbie Parker, of Little Rock; son, Aaron Ellington, of Little Rock; daughter, Lucinda (Carl) Jaggers, of Ft. Worth, Texas; and four grandchildren, Kaci Snider, Zander Jaggers, Parker Thomas and Emma Ellington. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daddy Ed and Mary Parker.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Dialysis Nursing team on 6B at the VA Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday at Smyrna Bible Church in Ferndale. Burial will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.
