Thomas Milton Piper Sr., 81, of Sherwood passed from this life on May 14, 2021. He was born September 25, 1939 in Warren, Arkansas to the late Harold William and Mary Gladys Stockton Piper. Mr. Piper was a member of St. Luke Episcopal Church in North Little Rock and a proud veteran of the United States Army. He married Kathleen Bryant on August 21, 1959 in North Little Rock. This union would prove that love truly does conquer all, in that they were married sixty-one years. Milton met Kathy when he was only eleven, and Kathy was ten years old. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, woodworking and playing softball. He played softball for a total of sixty-seven years and was a member of the Arkansas Softball Hall of Fame. Milton participated in Senior Olympics and was the recipient of many awards. He also was a member of the Jaycee’s and was recognized for his contributions and community service.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Harold Wayne Piper preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife and best friend of sixty-one years, Kathleen Bryant Piper; children, Thomas “Tommy” Milton Piper Jr. (Darla) of Sherwood; grandchildren, Logan Kloker (Lance) of Oklahoma, Brandon (Kerri) Jones of McRae; great grandchildren, Eva and Daisy Jones. Other survivors include sister, Mary Lynn Jenkins (Alvin) of Alabama, brother-in-law, Richard A. Gardner of Sherwood; nieces and nephews, Renee Von Tobel (Fred), Ricky Gardner, Michelle Long (Derek), Lynn Jenkins (Kerstin), Mike Jenkins, and Will Piper (Lori), along with other extended family and a host of dearly loved friends.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be 12:00 PM, Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.
