The world lost one of its finest when Timothy “Tim” Symons, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 18, 1947, Tim lived an extraordinary life marked by intelligence, compassion, courage, and unwavering faith. A former Mensa member with a brilliant, curious mind, he loved using his gifts to lift others up. He had a rare ability to see potential in people and took genuine joy in helping them start fresh, find direction, or believe in themselves again. Many lives were forever changed because he cared enough to help.
Tim studied engineering at Louisiana State University before building a diverse and meaningful career. He served as President of Capital Drilling Company in Lafayette, spent 17 years with Edward Jones, and ultimately founded Symons Investment Management. Helping others with their finances was his calling and passion. Always dressed in a business suit, even as the world grew casual, Tim wanted clients to know that their futures mattered to him. His professionalism, integrity, and dedication were unmatched.
Tim’s love for service extended far beyond his work. He was a hero in every sense of the word. He even rescued two children from drowning at the beach, one of many acts of quiet bravery that defined him. He never sought recognition for his heroism; he simply lived his life prepared to help as needed.
Tim shared 40 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Kelly Landon Symons, a partnership built on faith, laughter, devotion, and deep mutual respect. Together, they raised children who brought him immeasurable pride as a father: Tim Symons Jr. (Reem) of Orlando, FL; Taylor Cline (Celeste) of Kona, HI; Spencer Symons (Giovanna) of St. Augustine, FL; and Landon William Symons of Gravel Ridge, AR. Above all his accomplishments, Tim’s greatest joy and truest calling was being a father and a fun uncle. He loved his children fiercely, encouraged their individuality, and supported every dream they dared to chase.
He was also a grandfather to Adam, Leah, Hannah, and James Symons, and a brother to Suzanne Brady of Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. and Beverly Claire Symons.
Tim’s zest for life was unmatched. He loved surfing, scuba diving, riding dirt bikes, loved his animals, and proudly became a three-state champion of motocross racing, continuing to ride well into his 70s with the enthusiasm of a man who refused to grow old in spirit. He played drums during church services, shot guns for fun, and approached every hobby with passion and joy.
More than anything, Tim’s faith shaped every part of his life. He gave all glory and credit to God, lived with humility, and remained grateful for every blessing.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Justin and Angelene with Golden Years Home Care, Arkansas Hospice, and Pleasant Hills Adult Day Care for their deep compassion and exceptional care of Tim.
Tim Symons lived remarkably, loved deeply, and served faithfully. The world is undoubtedly better because Tim was in it.
