Curtistine "Tina" Nutt Harrington

.

Curtistine “Tina” Harrington peacefully went to be with the Lord on October 7, 2024. Born August 6, 1938 (86) to Curtis and Mable Nutt in the Shiloh Community near Mineral Springs, Arkansas, she was ready to reunite with her husband of 62 years, Arnold David Harrington, her four sisters, her mother, and countless friends and family. Tina is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: David Anthony and Gayla Harrington, Gregory Scott and Delinda Harrington, and Michael Steven and Flora Harrington; along with ten grandchildren: Luke Harrington, Leah Schlitts (Rob), Elizabeth Harrington (Andrew), John David Harrington (Scarlett), Rachel Harrington, Rebekah Harrington, Danny Harrington (Avery), Savannah Boyce (Matt), Madeline Stroh (Luke), Morgan Harrington-Boyd (Tyler), and four great-grandchildren: Rosie, Magnolia, Judah and Liam.

Tina was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas where she sang in thechoir and, with her husband Dave, led a Young Adults Sunday School class which spawned over forty-five marriages. Known for her compassion and infectious positivity, Tina cherished her family and friends. As an Army officer’s wife, she provided warmth and stability for her family through more than 30 moves, often serving as the sole parent while raising their three boys during Dave’s two tours in Vietnam. Tina also served as President of the Officer Wives Club, supporting other military families during challenging times. Her resilience and love were the foundation of her family’s strength. She shone her light in her community, recognized through her involvement as a member of the EEE Sorority at Ouachita Baptist University, as a Cub Scout leader, as a Royal Ambassadors leader, as a volunteer at Baptist Medical Center, and as a steadfast cheerleader supporting her grandkids' passions.

Tina, a five-time cancer survivor, greeted every day with a song. She and Dave shared an enduring love throughout their lifelong journey together. Tina’s legacy will always be remembered as a champion for the love of her family, sharing joy through her musical gifts of singing and playing the piano, her vibrant rose garden, her heartfelt handwritten letters, and her precious smile.

“Her children arise and call her blessed; many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” (Proverbs 31:28-31)

Visitation will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, with a memorial service to begin at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Samaritan’s Purse Organization.
