Tom McCool

Roy Thomas McCool, 72, born August 27, 1944, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, April 26, 2017 at 9:39 pm. He passed at home in Beebe, Arkansas, surrounded by family and his caregiver Erma McCool. Best known as Tom by his friends and family, he fought a lengthy battle with lung cancer the past 3 years. Tom was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, and made sure to pass his passion on to his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He also had a love of horses that he handed down to each new generation.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Rosie and Harvey McCool; sisters Dorothy Brewer, Jane Morrison, and Faye Rivard; brother Wayne McCool, as well as his beloved brother-in-law Eugene Sherman.

Tom is survived by his daughter Deelonda Land; grandsons Jacob Land, Justin Land, Jordan Rachal, and great-grandchildren Brooklyn Land and Michael Land; son Eugene Davis (Claudia), granddaughters Breanna Davis and Veronica Milam Davis, grandson Nicholas Opat; and great grandchildren Alaina Milligan, Vivian Milligan, and Liberty Groves. Also surviving are sisters Ruth Sherman, Sherrie Pulliam, and Lois Kraft, as well as a host of nieces and nephews that adored their Uncle Tom.

The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice for their tireless support of the family in caring for Tom. Also, thanks go to Tom's dear friend for over 45 years, Jerry Griggs, for sipping coffee on the back porch and making Tom's final fishing trips so enjoyable.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, Arkansas. Private burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home.
