Tommy Darrell Hughes, Jr.

Listen to Obituary

Tommy Darrell Hughes passed away, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith, servant-hearted love, and quiet strength that touched countless lives. He was born on April 13, 1975, in Hot Springs. He was known as an overcomer, meeting life’s challenges with courage, determination, and an unshakable trust in God. On May 2, 2008, Tommy married the love of his life, Terisa Logan Hughes. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and serving others.

Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Tom Hughes Sr.; his brother, David Hughes; and his grandparents, Samuel and Pat Gibson Hughes and Carroll Pyron and Laverne Ennis Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Terisa Hughes of Glenwood; his mother, Sherry Pyron Hughes of Pearcy; his children, Garrett Subin, McKenzie Williams (Mason), Colby Buck (Mikaila), and Makayla Buck; his beloved grandchildren, Caroline Buck, Jamie Buck, and Paisley Williams; his sister, Crystal Hughes; his cherished nieces and nephews, Hannah Swink, Zoey Cowart, Chloe Cowart, and Tanner Wilson; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Tommy was a hardworking man who wore many hats throughout his life. He worked as a land surveyor for B&F Engineering and also owned T n T Lawn Care, that he considered his pride and joy, home remodeling, and was truly a “jack of all trades.” He loved fishing, hunting, hiking, traveling, tinkering, and especially spoiling his grandchildren.

A faithful member of Community Outreach Church, Tommy’s relationship with Christ guided every aspect of his life. He faithfully volunteered with Hands of Hope, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He lived his faith through service, compassion, and kindness.

Those who knew Tommy will remember his generous heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering faith. More than anything, he will be remembered as a man who never let adversity define him. His life was a testimony of God’s faithfulness and the power of perseverance.

Though he will be deeply missed, Tommy’s legacy lives on in the family he loved, the lives he touched, and the example he set through his faith, resilience, and servant’s heart.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7.
