Tommye J. Wright, Sr., 81, of Little Rock, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2007. He was retired from Railway Express after 30 years, coached the Rosedale Optimist Little League team, and was the leader of Boy Scout Pack 55. Tommye was a member of Masonic Lodge #641 in Plainview, Arkansas for over 50 years, belonged to the Leola Hunting Club, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and sportsman.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bobbie Jo Rowland Wright; his son, Tommye, Jr.; daughter, Lou Ann; and granddaughter, Ashley Stokes and husband, Patrick, all of Little Rock. Preceding him in death were his parents, John C. and Laura Ryan Wright, and brother, Bobby John Wright. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. The Graveside Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3 at Roselawn Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Lynn Lindsey.
