Townsend Pierce, age 94, of Arkadelphia, went to meet God Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Waldron. He was born August 30, 1919 in Clark County Arkansas to James Calvin and Ruthie Louella Buck Pierce. Townsend spent most of his working years as a logger and retired from being a security guard. He was a member of Third Street Baptist Church of Arkadelphia. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Billie Jean Baker Pierce and one son, Bobby Calvin Pierce.
Survivors are his daughter, Sandra Neel and husband, Lynn of Waldron, Arkansas; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 6th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Bro. James Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow at DeGray Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
