Travis Garner, age 77, of Daisy, died Sunday, November 4, 2012. He was born on April 11, 1935 at Amity, the son of William David Garner and Gracie Golden Garner. He was preceded in death by his parents; and seven siblings, Odie Buck, Otis Garner, Ardell Garner, Adell York, Wennie Fant, Lennie Simmons, Othor Garner and Almeta (Meter) O'Neal Moore. He was a Free Will Baptist minister for 52 years and had pastored several of the local churches. He was a former employee of Indianapolis Glove Factory and worked for several years at Wrights Food Center. A musician, he loved playing the guitar and singing and had recorded several gospel albums in a Nashville studio. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Estle Harding; two grandsons, Cody Anderson and Shane Harding, all of Daisy; his sister, Dessie Tipton of Clarendon; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 7, 2012, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
