Tressie Mae Fudge passed away on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015. She was born November 12, 1920 in Byers, Texas to Jerome and Eula Tomlinson. She was preceded in death by her parents, a baby sister, Geta Lois, a brother, Shelby Tomlinson, a sister, Lois Lincoln, and her beloved husband of 50 years, Cleo Wesley Fudge.
She is survived by her daughters, Shelba Avants (Nick) of Little Rock and Sue Prince (Gerald) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was known as "Granny Mae" to all of her family and friends. All of the grandchildren looked up to her as their "Rock."
Tressie and Cleo moved from Batesville to Little Rock in the late 1960s, where Tressie worked at Heights Variety for Bud Hewitt and Hillcrest Variety for Mr. Stigall for about 25 years. She then did volunteer work for St. Vincent's gift shop and for the Salvation Army Auxiliary.
There will be a service for Tressie at a later date at Caney Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are asked to be given to the Salvation Army Auxiliary of Little Rock.
