Troy Bennie Myrick, (93) of Beebe, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Johnnye, on Monday, October 16th, with family at his side. He was born January 21, 1924 to the late Erman and Elizabeth Myrick of Tomato, AR.
Troy proudly served in the United States Army in two wars, World War II and the Korean War, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. He retired from the furniture business after 30+ years and opened an antique shop. He continued to work into his late 80's selling antique glassware and china. He loved giving to others and telling the stories of his life.
Troy was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by daughters, Dianne Vaughan (Grant) of North Little Rock, AR, and Karan Stewart (Eric) of Reno, TX; step-daughter, Shirley Fisher of Cabot, AR, and step-son, James Phillips (Gail) of Harahan, LA; grandchildren, Kristy Walters (Lance) of Sherwood, AR, Laura Tucker (Greg) of Sherwood AR, Jessica Stewart of Paris, TX; Chris Fisher of Cabot, AR, Russell Phillips of Rochester, MN, Jaclyn Derreberry of Clinton, AR, Leah Phillips of Liberty, TX; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Beebe Retirement Center for their loving care over the past few months.
A private, graveside service will be held at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home on October 20th at 3:00 p.m.
