Val Gene "Val" Valdez, 81 years old, of Beebe, passed away on January 30, 2015.

Born in 1934, at Harlingen, Texas, to the late Elsie Serota and Eliseo "Val" Valdez. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired, after thirty-eight years, from Phillips "66" Petroleum Company. Val was a member of the McRae Methodist Church, where he held many church offices. He was the President of the Lebanon Cemetery Board, volunteered on the McRae Memorial Board and was a member of a collective singing group.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 30 years, Dorothy Irene Wuckert Valdez.

Val is survived by his wife, of 25 years, Marilyn "Jan" Valdez; daughters, Valerie Valdez-Gonzales (Manuel) and Kathryn Bridges; sons, Mark Valdez (Karen) and Donald Bridges; grandchildren, Matthew Valdez, Krista Palmer, Val Gene Gonzales, Dorothy Gonzales; great grand-daughter, Evelynn Valdez; and sister, Betty Jo Powers (Fred).

Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2015 at Smith - Westbrook Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at Smith - Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe.
