Velma Marie Collins, 83, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away on September 1, 2026. She was born May 1, 1943, in Jacksonville, Arkansas, to Reed Lewis and Else Fulmer Lewis.
Velma was a devoted homemaker who spent many years managing a rental property. She was a longtime member of Church Life Tabernacle in Jacksonville. Naturally outgoing, Velma enjoyed talking with people and never met a stranger. She had a special love for flowers and found great joy in feeding and watching hummingbirds. Above all, she treasured her family and the time spent with those she loved.
Velma is survived by her sons, Galon Wallis and his wife, Penny, Ronnie Wallis and his wife, Dana, and Ricky Wallis and his wife, Samantha; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Grady Wallis and Joe Collins; her parents; and her brothers, R.L. Lewis and Jim Lewis.
Velma will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her love of conversation, and the warmth she shared with those around her. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.
