Velma DeLois Hutchins (Lois) went home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2026. at 8:40 PM. She was born on May 17, 1938 and was 87 years old at the time of her passing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Don Hutchins, and two sisters, Faye Sartin and Vivian Thomas. She is survived by her son, Gene Hutchins, and daughter B'linda Jaramillo. She has 4 grandsons, Tyler and Andrew Jaramillo, and Daniel and Douglas Hutchins. She also has 5 great grandchildren, Owen, Reid, Madelyn, Macy, and Liv Hutchins. She is also survived by her half-brother, Ron Vastine.
Lois was the wife of a career Navy veteran and was an employee of the Levi Strauss Company. She retired from Levi after working over 20 years with the company. She is thankful to God for her long life, loving family, and friends she's met over the years.
Lois spent most of her adult life traveling to many duty locations with her husband while he pursued a career in the Navy. They were married for 63 years before his passing in 2011. Lois was a very kind and generous person who loved her family and friends.
She was born to Clarence Jefferson Vastine, a sharecropper, and Lillian Ray Clement Vastine. They travelled the southern states whenever farming work was available. She married Don Hutchins at the age of 17. When Don retired from the Navy in 1975, they moved to Arkansas where they lived the rest of their lives. Lois accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 2018 at the age of 80.
Lois enjoyed visiting with her neighbors in Austin Lakes and feeding their dogs treats she stored in her garage. She also enjoyed opening her home to friends and family and serving chocolate cake. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.
