Velma May Nobles

Velma May Nobles, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024. She was born on August 17, 1928. Velma led a fulfilling life that touched the hearts of many. 

Velma is preceded in death by her parents, Pet and Daisy McLaughlin; her late husband, Odis Athel Nobles; her son, Odis Duane Nobles; daughters, Infant Nobles and Glenda Kelley, and Velma Jean Nobles-Reichardt; her sisters, Opal Owens, Lillie Steelman, and Ruby Steelman; brothers, Carl McLaughlin, Paul McLaughlin, and "WD" McLaughlin; grandaughter, and Mellisa Jo Smith-Black.

Velma received her education at LeFlore Schools in Oklahoma, laying the foundation for a lifetime of learning and growth. She was a dedicated employee at Lake Catherine Footwear, where she devoted her time and skills. Her work ethic and passion for her career left a lasting impact on those around her.

Velma is survived by her son-in-law, Kenith Kelley; brother, Thomas McLaughlin (Lydia); sister, Rose Chaney (Henry); grandchildren, Cory Jay Reichardt, Larry Duane and Regina Renee Kelley, Ricky Gene Kelley and Katrina Kelley; as well as five great-grandchildren, Dustin Gene Shelton, Eric Owen Lee Black, Phoenix Michael-Gene Reichardt, Kairi Rebecca-Mae Reichardt, and Amara Kaylene-Jo Reichardt. 

Family and friends are invited to attend the graveside service in honor of Velma May Nobles. The service will take place at New Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hot Springs Village, AR on Friday, July 26, 2024. A time for reflection and remembrance will begin at 2:00 PM with the service commencing at 3:00 PM.

Velma's kindness, strength, and love will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace as her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
