Velma Marie Walker

Velma Marie Walker, 94, of North Little Rock passed away May 27, 2024.  She was born August 22, 1929 in North Little Rock, to the late Samuel Fair Crook and Hazel Margaret McCutcheon Crook.  Velma was a homemaker and mother, but also worked at Union 76 Truck Stop as a waitress for many years.  In her retirement years she enjoyed crafts and painting.  

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Paul Walker; and siblings:  Ann Gentry and Bill Carlisle.  Survivors include her two children:  Joseph Paul Walker, Jr. (Carol) of California; Donna Jean Montgomery of North Little Rock; two sisters:  Judy Heavrin and Juanita Shumate; two grandsons:  Joseph Paul Walker III and Sean Walker; and several great-grandchildren; and many friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock.  A Graveside Service will begin at 3:00 PM, Monday, June 3, 2024 at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Highway 5, Alexander, AR.
