Victoria (Vicki) Lynn Slack had an infectious laugh and embraced life with a creative flair. On April 17, 2017, she joined her husband, Richard, and her parents, Carl and Lyndona, in Heaven. Vicki was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she instantly had a knack for creating art out of anything she touched. She especially liked drawing and painting horses! She graduated from Blaine Senior High, and attended Anoka Ramsey Community College and the University of Arkansas. She married her best friend, Richard Slack, in 1992, and loved his son as her own. Vicki came to faith in Jesus Christ later in life, but the profound change in her outlook and hope in life was clearly seen by all! Her trust and love for the Lord Jesus for her time left here on earth, and for her eternal joy sheâd spend with Him, was steady throughout her times of both joy and challenges. Vickiâs heart was for all her family and friends to experience the relationship she had with Jesus, and often prayed for them and shared when opportunity came. In her walk with Jesus, the women in her âWingsâ group (Women in need of God), were a constant source of encouragement through bible studies, prayers, and their close relationships of mutual support. A devout worker, Vicki enjoyed her career as a claims specialist for American Management Cooperation, but enjoyed her 18 years of friendships even more. She was an avid crafter and gardener; you could often find her fishing nearby or worshiping in her Bible study group. Vicki is survived by her son. William Sr. of New Bern, NC; brothers Carl (Beth) of Conway, George (Barbara) of China; grandchildren William Jr. and Isabelle; nieces and nephews Michaela, Zachary, Anna and Olivia; beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her very special friends, Janice, Peggy, Kevin and Belinda, Becky, Lene, and Carol, who have been by her side through her courageous battle. To honor Vicki's zest for life, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017, 4:00 p.m. at 18 Penrose Lane, Houston AR. Memorials may be given to the Humane Society or Hospice Home Care, both of Conway AR in her honor. Vicki's family wishes to extend their deepest and most sincere gratitude to Hospice Home Care aides David and Nicki for their enduring support and kindness.
